Authorities are still investigating a late-night plane crash near Lexington, but released the names of the 65-year-old pilot who was killed and the passenger who was injured.
Stephen Lunceford, of Driggs, Idaho., was flying the plane when it crashed just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, said Deputy Lee Jeffries of the Morrow County Sheriff's Office. The plane's sole passenger, Jeffery Smock, 37, of San Francisco, was injured, but managed to crawl and walk to a nearby residence to help.
Smock was airlifted to a trauma hospital, Jeffries said, but his condition was not known.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were still at the scene Thursday afternoon trying to determine what caused the crash.
The Cessna 182 was flying from Pasco, Wash., to Lexington when it crashed, said Mike Fergus, a spokesman for the FAA.
