The 2023 ΣAE San Diego Area Alumni Association Holiday Party was held Sunday, December 17th at the San Diego Yacht Club. It was a beautiful warm evening for the inside/outside event overlooking Shelter Island and the San Diego Bay. As night fell, one could view fully lit and decorated boats sailing past from the Parade of Lights. The forty plus attendees enjoyed the beautiful setting and festive décor. The bartender busily mixed holiday libations while guests enjoyed the delicious pork sliders and bountiful hors d’oeuvres. The staff circulated with coconut shrimp, caprese and chicken satay skewers.
All age groups were in attendance, including immediate past EA Caeden King (with his lovely date), as well as recent grads and former Cal Theta executive board members Riley Wagstaff, Cooper McNeily (and his date Daniella – whose little brother is a new member at Cal Theta!) and Eddie Donovan. It was great to see Brandon Losey from Cal Alpha Gamma (Cal State San Marcos), and his lovely wife Campbell. Troy and Natalie Wahl were in attendance fresh from their recent wedding on October 7th. Congratulations to both! Also, it was great to see Jay Jeffcoat and his date, Dr. Joyce Gattas, dean emeritus for the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts at SDSU. Also, John Lomac just returned from a trip to Africa in time to make the party! It is great to see brothers from all ages gathering to celebrate the holidays and brotherhood!
This event is once again becoming a “can’t miss” annual holiday tradition. We are already looking forward to next year. Happy Holidays and Phi Alpha from The ΣAE San Diego Area Alumni Association!
