Coach Rocky Long talks SDSU Football at the April Luncheon

Updated: Apr 23, 2019

A capacity crowd of about 50 members attended the April 11thluncheon to hear Aztec head football coach Rocky Long at the San Diego Yacht Club.

It was great to see many more young faces in the crowd. A moment of silence was held in honor of the late SAE icon Dick Troncone, who entered chapter eternal on March 16th.

Coach Long detailed the positive recruiting and game atmosphere benefits he anticipates from having the new stadium and SDSU West completed. Coach further discussed why he believes SDSU may have a realistic shot at joining the Big-12 in the not-too-distant future, and why joining the Pac-12 simply won’t happen. Rocky gave an overview of the new offensive scheme, and positives of converting to the spread formation. Coach Long is thrilled to have experienced and tough-minded Brady Hoke back on his staff as defensive line coach. Confirmation of the date and guest speaker for the July luncheon is expected shortly.
