On May 23rd, we hosted our latest in a series of luncheons at The San Diego Yacht Club. Our keynote speaker was the newly confirmed Chief of Police, Scott Wahl. Scott, a lifelong San Diegan, is the older brother of brother Troy Wahl (Cal Theta). The audience was captivated to hear what Scott had to say about his vision for the department and the challenges that he faces. Scott said that he has dreamed of being in this position since he was a kid. His father, Mike (who was in attendance), retired from SDPD after 36 years of service. Scott is a charismatic leader and plans on taking immediate action when he officially takes over on June 7th.
Those in attendance were engaged and there was great back and forth during the Q&A session. We also had the opportunity to welcome the Cal Theta EA, Shane O’Sullivan, and present him with his EA pin. Past EA Riley Wagstaff presented Shane with his pin.
Thanks to Scott for taking the time out of his busy schedule to be with us! A huge ΦΑ to Troy for spearheading this event, and thank you to all who attended!
